The will be able to take two simple sentences and create one complex sentences. The student will be able to create one complex paragraph from many simple and run-on sentences. Materials: paper, pencil Technology: computer, and power point projector Modifications: For those that are below grade level in their grammar comprehension, I will scaffold them with an above grade level grammar person. Assessment: There will be five frames of complex sentences to complete, and one complex paragraph to re-write. Procedure: PP of a picture of complex wave and chaos theory in action to get the creative juices flowing. PP: The longest word in the oxford medical dictionary PP: A short discussion on the longest sentence ever written PP: Situations and times where grammar is extremely important PP: Definition and use of a complex sentence PP: Five different frames of complex sentence creation with instant feedback PP: Complex paragraph creation
